1.9.1: Installing a mod is not obvious compared to highlighting one

Reported by Celendis | December 7th, 2009 @ 09:19 PM

When installing a mod, the details fields fill out nicely. However, it is confusing since highlighting a mod does the same thing. In addition, if you select a mod on the left, say "Auto Highlight" and install "No Follower Autolevel", "Auto Highlight" remains selected, while the details display "Auto Loot V1.13".

I would propose that when dragging a [da]zip file onto the DAModder window, a popup window display with the details of the new mod with an install and cancel button at the bottom.

Well first off, when you drag a DAZIP or ZIP over, the details screen populates with the data for THAT mod. It shouldn't be showing anything else, if it is that's a big.

Secondly, its irrelevant because i've made some changes to how installs work since 1.9.1 :) I just haven't polished it all for a release yet.

The way it is eventually going to work (and i'm 90% of the way there now), is you drag the DAZIP or ZIP file over, DAModder stages it and extract the contents, determines what the mod is, then displays window asking if you want to install so and so mod. You say yes, it installs, and then if a readme was provided, the readme is displayed after installation. The population of the details on the main screen were really a temporary thing so we could all see that things were parsing right.

This should be much more clear in the 1.9.2 and later. Resolving this ticket.
