UI Redesign
Reported by nonameform | December 7th, 2009 @ 01:14 AM
By the time I finished the sketches, you have already released Beta 1.9.1.
In my opinion, button placement is not very intuitive in the current version. (I still lack understanding about "Configure Mod" button. Will it allow installed mods configuration or configuration before installation?)
All buttons are grayed out (sorry, I didn't draw the shadows), nothing can be done until one of the installed mods is selected or a new mod is dropped on DAM window.
Only two buttons are active. User can either configure the mod or uninstall it.
Again only two buttons are active, but this time user can either install mod or view the associated readme, if it's present in .ZIP. As I understand, already installed mods can't have a readme associated with it, unless there is some database that keeps a reference table between addons and text files.
Since there is some whitespace left between buttons at the bottom and lower border of installed mods list / details window, it might be possible to add a short message at the top. Something like "To configure/uninstall mod select it from the list on the left. To install new mod, drag and drop it on DAM window".
Also I've replaced "Filter" with "Search" since this field only checks mod titles and thus not actually "filtering". (I've also moved "Search" to the left from the input field, but you have done the same with "Filter" in 1.9.1.)
Edit: Already noticed a thread at support site. /facepalm
