Non-Compatible Mod Unhandled Exception & Prompt Cutoff

Reported by Chris Ward | December 28th, 2009 @ 01:01 AM | in Beta 3

When I drag a mod that is incompatible, in this case I'm using Pineappletree's Vibrant Colors 1_31, it will extract the files and then bring up a prompt saying it's incompatible(expected behaviour). However, if I click 'Cancel' on that screen, it will throw up an unhandled exception error and give the option to abort or continue. If I click 'Continue' it goes to the "Install Mod" part of the installer, and if I click 'Quit" it, well, quits. :P

But the error itself is probably something that should be looked at, though as far as I can tell afterward the install continued as normal, so it's nothing critical, especially since it only applies to inherently incompatible mods. My guess is it has to do with the Readme/Changelog features trying to access files that aren't there. When I toggle between them after loading an incompatible file it will keep throwing up the same exception. I've attached the debug information.

Another small thing is that if you view the Non Compatible Mod prompt, it cuts off the description text towards the end, which reads: "It is up to you how much to fill in, but the".

Currently running version 2.2.6 beta(speaking of which, 'About' still says 2.2.4 ;) )

I have reproduced this. The bug is that installation should be aborted if the user clicks Cancel on that window, but the new installation wizard is continuing anyway.

    • State changed from “new” to “resolved”

(from [138]) - New installation wizard will now properly halt installation upon certain errors or user cancellation. This fixes issue #117 [#117 state:resolved]
