Problem with specific mod 2
Reported by Alex "Alexspeed" Bachner | December 15th, 2009 @ 10:46 AM
this is from beta 2.2.3
this is probably again an issue with the packaging of the
mod.
when installing this mod it puts a folder in the Addins directory
and a readme also there, but not in the folder of the mod where it
should be.
when uninstalling it the readme dosent get uninstalled with the mod folder.

Yeah well the author that packaged that mod was just an idiot.
The basic problem is DAZIPs that have had files manually inserted into them. When extracted and copied, the DAZIP's file structure is kept intact. so if the files inserted are not put in the proper folders -- they just end up wherever they were in the DAZIP.
When these files are in the wrong places, then the uninstaller doesn't see them because it doesn't know who they belong to.
I'm going to have some breakfast and think on this a bit.

I think I packaged that back when I was trying to find a way for my mod's readme to get installed by DAUpdater -- which never worked. One of the reasons I started writing DAModder.
DAModder will now save a list of all mod files that are installed, and when uninstalling, uses that list ensure all files are removed.
